Circle Boulevard Resurfacing Project Begins September 14

Steam roller laying down asphalt on a city street

September 10, 2020 - The City of Corvallis Public Works Department will begin a resurfacing project on Circle Boulevard on Monday, September 14, starting with grinding along Circle between Highland Drive and Dogwood Drive.

After grinding, the road surface will be prepared for vehicular travel for a few days before resurfacing begins. As part of this work, temporary striping and markings will be installed, which at a minimum will include a bike lane in each direction, one travel lane in each direction, and a center turn lane. This lane configuration is only temporary and is not representative of the new “road diet” configuration that is planned for Circle Boulevard upon completion of this project.

Traffic control measures will be in place daily to accommodate the progression of grinding and paving as crews move down Circle. Travelers should expect delays, lane shifts, and flaggers throughout this stretch of Circle Boulevard. Traffic signals will be operating in a timed mode during the grinding and resurfacing work, so expect some slightly longer delays due to less responsive signals.

Paving is expected to begin on September 21, followed by the application of the new “road diet” striping configuration.
