Parking Meters

Effective June 1, 2022, Corvallis will begin to transition to higher parking meter rates and citation fees, after more than 14 years without increasing these fees. A citywide parking audit provided a foundation for increasing parking meter fees throughout the city. Previously, rates for parking meters were last adjusted in 2000, and before that in 1992. The goal of the parking program is to ensure that the system is used consistent with adopted goals and practices and to ensure that the fees collected cover the costs associated with managing parking for the entire Corvallis community.

Check out the Parking Meter Rates FAQ for more information on the rate adjustments in 2022.

The approved changes are as follows and indicate the cost for the maximum time allowable on the meter:

24 Min Meter 1 Hr Meter 2 Hr Meter 4 Hr Meter 10 Hr Meter
24 Minute Limit
$.5o per 24 minutes
1 Hour Limit
$1.00 per hour
2 Hour Limit
$1.00 per hour
4 Hour Limit
$1.00 per hour
10 Hour Limit
$3.00 daily

City of Corvallis parking meters have the time limit posted on the side of the meter and also on the top inside the glass window. Each meter indicates the number of minutes given for each coin deposited. A vehicle is allowed to park at a meter only for the maximum time indicated on the meter. "Meter Feeding" or returning to deposit more coins for additional time without moving your vehicle is not allowed per Municipal Code 6.11.080.

Paystation
Pay Stations
Two pay stations on First Street between Van Buren and Monroe, one on Washington Avenue, and one at the Corvallis Benton County Public Library serve between 30 and 48 parking spaces each and eliminate the need for individual meters at each parking stall. These stations manage either two-hour or ten-hour parking spaces.

** 10-HOUR PARKING PERMIT

10 Hr Permit

Ten-hour parking permits, which are available at Public Works, provide a convenient way and a discounted cost for parking at 10-hour meters. The program was implemented to encourage employees to park at these locations. Ten-hour meters are located throughout the downtown district and are identified by a yellow painted cap. A 10-hour permit can only be used at spaces with 10-hour meters or 10-hour pay stations. The 10-hour permit does not guarantee a space at a specific 10-hour meter. The number of permits issued will not exceed the number of 10-hour spaces available. Motorists without permits are still permitted to use coins in the 10-hour meters.
  • $56 - one month
  • $166 - three months (quarterly)
  • $606 - one year
