Economic Development in Corvallis

In 2012, the City developed and adopted an economic development strategy that established the Economic Development Office (EDO). The EDO’s mission is to help businesses innovate, grow, and thrive in the Mid-Willamette Valley. Our service area includes all of Benton County including Corvallis, Philomath, Monroe, and Adair Village.

For more information, please see the Economic Development Strategic Work Plan 2024.

  • ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COALITION: The EDC advises City Council and the Benton County Commissioners in all matters pertaining to Economic Development, ensuring that Economic Development is a civic priority.
  • ENTERPRISE ZONE: The City of Corvallis has an Enterprise Zone that covers South Corvallis, Sunset Research Park, and the Hewlett-Packard campus. An enterprise zone exempts only new property that a job-creating business might build or install in the enterprise zone at some future time. Also, an enterprise zone exemption is temporary, usually lasting only three years, after which the property induced by these incentives is available for assessment. These sites are also designated as an Electric Commerce Zone, better known as e-commerce.
  • MUNICIPAL AIRPORT: The Corvallis Municipal Airport Industrial Park is located on Highway 99W, 3.5 miles south of downtown Corvallis and four miles from Oregon State University. Zoned for airport and industrial activities, the park has attracted nearly 20 high technology, light manufacturing, and services businesses. The 220-acre park is connected to city water and sewer, as well as electricity, natural gas and telephone services. It is also easily accessible by rail, highway and air. Highways 99W and 34 provide a quick connection to Interstate 5.
