Dunawi Creek Maintenance Project Begins
Corvallis Public Works has begun a maintenance and restoration project along two sections of Dunawi Creek in southwestern Corvallis. Contractor crews will be removing invasive vegetation, trash and other debris that could impede creek flows.
The first section includes Dunawi Creek from Brooklane Drive west to Trophy Place. The second section covers the creek from Country Club Place west to Highway 34.
The three-month project kicked off in mid-March and is expected to continue through June. Work will be completed by hand crews with minimal disruption to the surrounding neighborhoods.
Public Works regularly maintains City-owned urban streams as part of its comprehensive stormwater master plan. Ensuring proper creek flow helps reduce the potential for flooding in nearby areas, and enhances neighborhood livability and water quality.
