UPDATE: Corvallis Police Investigate Shooting
On July 17th, 2021, at approximately 10:56pm, Corvallis Police Department Officers responded to a report of a person being shot in the 100 block of NW 15th ST. Officers arrived on scene and found a 22 year old male with a gunshot wound. The male was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital with serious injuries. The suspect(s) fled the scene prior to police arrival. Investigators learned the shooting happened during a fight that occurred outside a house party.
On August 5, 2021, Corvallis Police Department Detectives arrested 19-year-old Alexander Leal, of Albany, as part of their on-going investigation. He was lodged at the Benton County jail on charges of Attempted Murder, Assault I, Assault III, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Reckless Endangering. Detectives are continuing to investigate this incident further and there is no additional information available at this time.
