"Halloween should be scary, not deadly. Historically, Halloween Weekend is one of the busiest times in Corvallis for law enforcement. Here are some simple ways to keep yourself safe:

  • Plan a sober ride home.
  • Avoid all dark clothing. Be visible to drivers.
  • Use the buddy system when attending parties.
  • Know your limits. Alcohol poisoning can be deadly.
  • Be aware of extra pedestrian traffic and children trick-or-treating."

 

"Halloween should be scary, not deadly. As you start planning your Halloween costume, here's some important safety tips to keep in mind:

  • Choose face paint or make-up when possible and avoid masks that may obstruct your vision.
  • Make sure your costume fits to prevent trips and falls.
  • Decorate costumes and bags with reflective tape or stickers, and choose light colored fabrics if possible.
  • Plan to carry glow sticks or flashlights if you'll be trick-or-treating after dark."
