Oregon State University Land Use
Regulation
Oregon State University’s (OSU) facilities and land are state-owned property, some of which is located inside the City of Corvallis or is within the Corvallis Urban Growth Boundary. Development on the main campus is subject to the OSU Zone and other applicable Land Development Code regulations. Key chapters of the code include:
- Chapter 3.36 - OSU Zone - Oregon State University (OSU) is generally regulated by Chapter 3.36 - OSU Zone of the City’s Land Development Code (LDC) as well as State Building and Fire Codes.
- Chapter 2.9 - Historic Preservation - Portions of the OSU campus are included on the National Register of Historic Places, an honor granted to only a handful of campuses nationwide. Chapter 2.9 - Historic Preservation of the LDC is also applied to OSU properties with historic protections.
- OSU Land Use Monitoring Reports - OSU provides land use monitoring data to the City Council on an annual basis pursuant to Section 3.36.90 of the LDC. The reports include information regarding development and open space, parking utilization, traffic operations, and efforts to support alternate transportation.
