Code Compliance improves the quality of life in the City of Corvallis and promotes public health, safety and welfare of the community. Our staff work in partnership with community members through education, inspection and enforcement to obtain compliance with the City of Corvallis Municipal Code, Land Development Code, State and Local Building Codes, and Corvallis Livability Code.

Policies, Procedures & Interpretations

Accessory Dwelling Units

An Accessory Dwelling Unit, or "ADU" (also commonly referred to as "mother-in-law unit"), is a small secondary dwelling unit constructed on the same property as an existing primary dwelling unit.  ADUs are permitted outright on most residential properties, subject to the development standards of Corvallis Land Development Code (LDC) Section 4.9.40

About Your Fire Department

The Corvallis Fire Department provides fire prevention and suppression services to the City of Corvallis, Oregon State University, and the surrounding Corvallis Rural Fire Protection District. Additionally, we provide the Advanced Life Support transport ambulance service under contract for nearly all of Benton County, a 765-square-mile area, and augment the Emergency Medical Services provided by the other fire/rescue agencies located around the County.
