September 9, 2026 - The City of Corvallis has provided its final contract offer to the state’s Employee Relations Board, as required under the current timeline for negotiations between the City and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME).

September 8, 2026 - The Corvallis City Council is working to develop sustainable solutions for stable, long-term city services in a way that is equitable, cost-effective, and transparent for the community. The Council is inviting the community to learn more about these efforts by attending one of several public outreach events planned for September and October.

At its core, the City's budget gap is a simple, unavoidable concept: the costs of maintaining City services and operations are growing at a faster rate than the City’s current revenue streams.

This means in the coming years, the City will be required to reduce core community services if it does not implement new revenue streams.
