Administrative Policy #5.13 - Park Utility Donations

Purpose

To provide guidelines in the solicitation, expenditure, and reporting of funds donated through the utility bill for park improvements and the Youth Park Corps Program.           

a.   The City Council has approved the solicitation of funds as part of and through the City Services Bill.

b.   These funds are necessary to support the employment of youth 14 to 16 years of age to work in the parks and on beautification projects.

Purpose

Volunteers play a vital role in delivering services to our community.  The City of Corvallis is firmly committed to the safety and well-being of our volunteers.  Additionally, the City provides insurance coverage which protects the City and our volunteers and ensures volunteers are informed of their responsibilities and those of the City.

Scope

This Policy applies to all City Departments.

Corvallis Bike Month

 

Bike Month is back! 

 

Nationally celebrated since 1956, and embraced in Corvallis for decades, this event has continually been the unofficial beginning of peak biking season since inception. 

Each year during May, we are encouraging people to get out and ride for fun and exercise, as well as for errands and trips.

For further incentive, we also invite you to participate in a dynamic lineup of community events, rides and good ol' fashion bike fun.

Wildfire Readiness Fair

The Corvallis Fire Department will host a free Wildfire Readiness Fair on Saturday, May 2 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Corvallis Community Center in recognition of Wildfire Preparedness Month.

The event is free and open to all community members. Attendees can expect informational booths, live equipment demonstrations, fire engine tours, kids activities, and free preparedness materials.
