Trees & Development

One of the most common times for conflicts between people and trees is during construction. If a tree has been slated for preservation during development review it must be protected per the guidelines below and the tree protection plan. Failure to do so may result in fines and delays in the construction process.

Tree Protection Zone:
A “no-go” area around the trunk of the tree, the size of the zone varies depending on the size of the tree in question. This is based on the critical root zone and must be shown on all drawings.

How can I plant a tree?

  • Plant a tree yourself – please fill out the application and email it to the urban forester who will respond with a list of tree species appropriate for your location.

New to lessons at OAC? Pease contact our front desk and our Cashiers can help you find the correct level for your child. All new lessons participants are tested on the first day of lessons to ensure they were placed into the correct level. If a child needs to move into a new level, the lesson supervisors will ensure they are placed in the correct level and communicate the change to a parent/guardian.

Overnight Camping Permits

The City of Corvallis issues permits for temporary overnight camping in non-residential areas for groups or special events, and for the temporary use of microshelters. The City of Corvallis Community Development office receives and processes permit applications.
