Corvallis Fire Responds to Fatal Crash at 53rd Street Train Trestle

March 5, 2024 - 53rd Street is closed between Touchstone Place and Reservoir Road on the west side of Corvallis following a fatal single vehicle crash on March 4 that severely damaged the train trestle.

The call reporting a motor vehicle crash near the trestle came in shortly after 10 p.m. on Monday, March 4. Corvallis Fire dispatched a medic unit, two engines, and a battalion chief.

Drone Inspection Program

Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) or commonly referred to as “Drones” are being utilized as a valuable tool in the construction industry.  The Development Services Division has created a program that certifies and trains staff to pilot a drone to assist with performing building inspections. The Division will use drones to perform a variety of inspections, specifically the types of inspections that are difficult to access physically, or unsafe to navigate.

Economic Development Coalition Meeting

Updated Engineering Standards

February 28, 2024 - The City has updated our Engineering Standards, implementing regulations for a Post Construction Stormwater Quality Program (PCSWQ) in order to comply with National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Phase II requirements as issued through the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) general permit.
