Christina Jancila Appointed as Ward 2 City Councilor

September 9, 2022 - Christina Jancila has been appointed as the new Ward 2 Councilor on the Corvallis City Council. She will serve out the remainder of the current Council term, which concludes on December 31, 2022.

Ranked Choice Voting

Ranked choice voting (RCV) is a system that gives voters the ability to rank candidates in order of preference - 1st choice, 2nd choice, and 3rd choice. Ranked choice voting was first implemented in Benton County in 2020 and is used for City of Corvallis races with three or more candidates.

Fire Department Urges Preparedness Ahead of Red Flag Warning

September 8, 2022 - Corvallis Fire Department is increasing its staffing levels ahead of the anticipated high fire risk forecast for the community through the weekend. Fire Department officials are also encouraging community members to practice extreme fire safety and be on the lookout for fire activity. The National Weather Service (NWS) has declared a “Red Flag Warning” for all of the Willamette Valley, including Benton County, starting at 11 a.m. Friday, September 9 through 11 p.m. Saturday, September 10.
