May 28, 2024 - The Corvallis Fire Department is gearing up to launch a new paid firefighter apprentice program designed to create entry-level opportunities for diverse candidates interested in a career in the fire service.
The apprentice program is funded by a $1.6 million grant from the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries. Corvallis was one of just three communities in the state to receive funding to create a new apprentice firefighter program.
May 28, 2024 - The Corvallis-Benton County Economic Development Office is now accepting complete applications on a first come, first served basis for the Corvallis Downtown Revolving Loan Fund Program. The total program funds available are $38,500 until more funding becomes available in the future. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis until all funds are expended.
Presenters of this session will explain elected office in Corvallis and provide information to prospective candidates on the process of running for office. This event will not be a forum for debating issues, nor will it address how to campaign for office. Everyone is welcome, especially people who are interested in running for City Council or who would like to learn more about our City’s election process.
