Cloudy Water Explained - The City of Corvallis Fire Department has begun their annual program to flush fire hydrants and some residents are experiencing some turbidity in the water coming from their faucets. Turbidity can give the water a cloudy appearance or even a light brown color. The water is safe to drink. If your water is cloudy, we recommend you run your cold water for 10-15 minutes until your water becomes clear. The increase in water turbidity is associated with the hydrant flushing program being delayed due to the chlorine supply shortage last month.
