Evacuation Exercise Opportunity for Neighborhoods - Corvallis Fire Department is conducting an evacuation exercise on June 19, 2021 and has room for two additional neighborhoods to participate. Neighborhoods can be associations, HOAs, or a small section of neighbors who've worked on preparedness together. The exercise allows neighbors to practice the process of evacuation and prepare togetherWhat is the commitment?  Participants will receive access to preparatory webinars from the City Emergency Manager and OSU Forestry Extension to review the local aspects of evacuation and personal preparedness before the exercise. On the day of the exercise, participants will receive a Corvallis Alert to start the exercise. They will walk through their process of evacuation, and then drive to a Resource Center and receive information packets. Participants will wrap up with a short webinar to review the event and discuss lessons learned together. West Hills Neighborhood Association (WHNA) Meeting - March 30 @ 6p @ Online - WHNA recently conducted a neighborhood survey to identify the interests of neighbors in a variety of efforts, amenities, and projects. Neighbors are invited to join a discussion on the survey results and help to identify next steps. Learn more.

WHNA Community Presentations - March 31 @  5:30 - 6:45p @ online - WHNA members will provide updates to their neighborhood about the various community boards and efforts in which they are involved.  Presentations will include the Friends of Corvallis Parks & Recreation, the Garden Share Initiative, and Home, Opportunity, Planning, and Equity (HOPE) Board. This event represents a creative way to connect a neighborhood to the broader community. Learn more.

Own Voices ChallengeMarch 21 - May 17 -The Corvallis-Benton County Library has launched the Own Voices Challenge. The activity is a spring reading, listening, and watching challenge. Read, listen, or watch titles in 5 of 12 categories/themes (e.g., Black Voices, Diverse Abilities, Poverty and Homelessness) to earn activity badges. Those that earn 5 badges or more qualify for a free anti-racism or Black voices book, while supplies last. Learn more.
