New This Week
Oregon State University Fall Term begins September 23 - OSU has centralized COVID-19 materials, including FAQs and planning documents, on the COVID-19 Safety & Success website. Students living both on and off campus are required to follow the COVID-19 safety policies. OSU has issued a policy that limits social gatherings - both indoor and outdoor - to 10 or less people. This is more stringent than the statewide policy. The policy is enforced through the Office of Student Conduct. Suspected violations of the policy can be reported using the OSU Community COVID-19 Report Form.
Corvallis Community Center Grand Opening Week - September 21 - 25 - Join the City to celebrate the completion of the recent renovation of Corvallis Community Center (C3), formerly known as the Chintimini Senior and Community Center. Corvallis' Art World During a Time of Pandemic - September 22 @ 6:30p @ online - The City's own Jimbo Ivy, Majestic Theatre Supervisor, will join panelists representing a variety of art forms to discuss the impact of the pandemic on our local arts. Panelists will discuss their efforts to bring art to existing and new audiences under shifting conditions and the lessons learned throughout. Learn more.
Skyline West Neighborhood Debris Days are ON - September 25 - 28 - The SWNA received a $500 grant from NFPA/State Farm Wildfire Community Preparedness and will hold it's annual Debris Days this month. This event offers neighbors an opportunity to clear debris from their yard and shared spaces and remain Firewise.
City Natural Areas are OPEN - September 21 - Corvallis Parks and Recreation Natural Areas closed last week due to fire danger but have now re-opened. This includes the following: Bald Hill Natural Area; Brandis Natural Area; Chip Ross Natural Area; Forest Dell Natural Area; Herbert Farm Natural Area; Marys River Natural Area; Noyes Natural Area; Orleans Natural Area; Owens Farm Natural Area; Timber Hill Natural Area; and Witham Hill Natural Area.
