About the Neighborhood
The Timber Ridge Neighborhood Association was formalized in 1993, revitalized in 1996 and refocused in 2013 to inform new and existing residents and homeowners about changes in the land development planning and approval process and to encourage participation in Public Hearings offered by the City Council for active applications that affect Ward 8 neighborhoods. The Association meets 1x a year or whenever issues arise that would impact residents and homeowners as a group. TRNA neighbors have a record of public service on City Commissions, working groups, advisory boards and as elected City Council members. The Association's primary means of communication is email and use of the Nextdoor Timber Ridge online network. Current interests include density of hillside development, preservation of the area's natural environment including wetlands, wildllife habitat, and the Oak Savannah forest, the Timberhill trail system, and management of the forest canopy that considers temperature, storm water runoff, soil erosion, and noise and air pollution. Traffic congestion and safety issues for existing neighborhood steep hillside streets connecting to Walnut Blvd are also a primary interest.
Boundaries: Boundaries are established by formal bylaws. Includes all properties abutting Rolling Green to the West by all property abutting Bluebell Place and Jonquil Place to the South, by all property abutting Snowberry Place, Wintergreen Place, and Garryanna Drive to the East, and by the limits of development at the top of the ridge to the North.
