Planning Work Program

OVERVIEW
A portion of the Planning Division mission is to respond to community development goals that are established by the City Council and community members. The City Council goals often have their genesis in discussions with citizens and other interested parties, who are actively engaged in promoting, improving, and enhancing this community's livability. Council goals are formalized through adoption of the Strategic Operational Plan.

WORK PROGRAM

Each year staff forwards a list of potential work items to the Planning Commission for their review. The Planning Commission then forwards a recommendation of priorities to the City Council and incorporates its own goals into the annual Planning Commission work plan or addresses items on the Unresolved Planning Issues list. City Council then works with staff to incorporate short and long term tasks into the City's Strategic Operational Plan.
