Local Assistance Resources

Corvallis has a wide range of non-profit organizations working to connect resources to those in need.

Benton Habitat for Humanity- Using a model combining sweat equity, volunteer labor and donated materials, Habitat builds or rehabilitates homes that are affordable for low income families. 

CARDV- Provides services and support to those affected by sexual and domestic violence, and provides education and leadership within the community to change the societal conditions that cultivate these forms of violence.

Community Outreach, Inc -Community Outreach has been providing for the basic human needs of the Mid-Willamette Valley’s homeless and poor since 1971—stabilizing those in crisis, feeding the hungry, housing the homeless, healing the sick, and counseling the mentally ill and substance addicted.

Community Services Consortium- Helping people in Linn, Benton and Lincoln counties overcome the causes and conditions of poverty by providing services leading to productive and self-sufficient lives.

Corvallis Daytime Drop-in Center- Provides a variety of services to persons who are homeless and/or low income. Initially, the center, known as The Circle of Hope, was established to provide a socialization place for people with psychiatric disabilities.

Corvallis Housing First- Providing social services to vulnerable community members through
outreach and a caring network of faith community services and volunteers.

DevNW - Non-profit developers and owners of affordable housing for low income families and individuals. 

Fair Housing Council of Oregon-  Promotes equal access to housing by providing education, outreach, technical assistance, and enforcement opportunities specifically related to federal, state, and local fair housing laws. These laws protect against illegal housing discrimination based on “protected class status” in any housing situation.

Home Life, Inc- Home Life assists people with developmental disabilities to enjoy active, productive and independent lives.

HomeSmart Oregon- a collaborative of non-profit organizations that work to connect first time home buyers with the assistance and tools they need to make decisions about owning a home. Within the state of Oregon, they offer home ownership programs that provide financial assistance and helpful guidance on everything from the importance of having a savings plan to how to compare mortgage and loan options

Jackson Street Youth Services- Temporary shelter, crisis intervention, and services for troubled, victimized, runaway and homeless youth. 

LeadFreeKids - The Lead-Free Kids campaign is joint effort of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and the Coalition to End Childhood Lead Poisoning. The goal of the campaign is to raise awareness of lead hazards and alert the public - especially parents and caregivers of children under six - to lead prevention resources.

Linn-Benton Housing Authority- Providing assistance and increasing housing opportunities for lower income households within Linn and Benton Counties.

Oregon Department of Revenue- Information about property tax exemptions for disabled veterans or surviving spouses.

Oregon Law Help - Free legal information for low-income Oregonians.
