Upcoming Topics at City Council - The Corvallis City Council three-month calendar tracks upcoming issues and key meeting dates. The public is encouraged to review the calendar to get a sense of issues on the horizon. The calendar is subject to change, and dates should be considered tentative until they appear on the City of Corvallis website calendar. The following topics are known to be of interest to neighborhoods and have tentative dates for discussion: Middle Housing Project Update (April 19), Council Policies on Houselessness (April 19), and OSU Annual Monitoring Report (May 6).

Hate Crime Reporting - Hate crimes and bias incidents are on the rise, both in Oregon and nationally.  A bias incident is any hostile expression that may be motivated by another person’s race, color, disability, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, or gender identity. A hate crime, known as a bias crime under Oregon law, is any crime where the perpetrator’s motivation is based on bias. Both bias crimes and incidents can be verbal, physical, or visual, and can target someone in a protected class, a family member, or even someone incorrectly perceived to be in a protected class. Report a hate or bias crime to the Oregon Department of Justice for referral and follow-up.
