Federal, State, and local fair housing laws prohibit rental housing owners, property managers, and landlords from discrimination against certain protected groups in any aspect of residential renting activities. This training is intended to educate rental housing providers about fair housing concepts to prevent housing discrimination.
This training will cover basic concepts of Fair Housing. We will review the federally protected classes of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, disability, and familial status. We will also discuss Oregon state protected classes of marital status, source of income (housing vouchers and housing subsidies), sexual orientation, and gender identity. We will discuss common red flags of discrimination and protections for people with disabilities, including how to write Reasonable Accommodation and Modification Requests.
Sponsored by the City of Corvallis in partnership with the City of Albany and the Linn-Benton Rental Housing Association. Presented by Fair Housing Council of Oregon.
