High Wind Tips

High winds have the potential to bring down trees, power lines, and signs, and can turn unsecured objects into dangerous projectiles. Listed below are some tips to keep in mind during high wind warnings. 

If you are caught outside during high winds:

Trees - Urban Forestry

Urban Forestry is the planting, care and management of all trees and associated vegetation that make up the "forest" within a city.   These activities are all part of the Urban Forestry Management Plan, which is overseen by the City's Urban Forester, the Parks Supervisor, and the Department Director.

Willamette Boat Landing

Location: On the southeast part of town, at the end of Fischer Lane, off of Crystal Lake Drive

The Willamette Boat Landing is a concrete ramp that leads down into the Willamette River allowing sports enthusiasts to easily load and unload their motor boats. (Most aqua-enthuiasts that launch non-motorized water craft, such as kayaks and canoes, use North Riverfront Park instead, where the current is a bit slower.)
