When is a Street Cut Permit Needed?

A street cut permit authorizes a registered, bonded contractor to excavate in a public street or alley to access a public utility line. The review and issuance of these permits allows City staff to assess the need for the street cut, ensure that the contractor can perform the work in a manner consistent with City standards, impose traffic control standards if necessary, specify backfilling requirements, and outline City specifications for the patching process.

Manufactured Dwellings

When is a Manufactured Dwelling Permit Needed?

A permit is required whenever a manufactured dwelling is proposed to be placed or replaced in a manufactured dwelling park, manufactured dwelling subdivision, or in a residential zone. A permit may also be required for altering, repairing or converting a manufactured dwelling, installing earthquake resistant bracing or constructing a manufactured dwelling accessory structure.

Mechanical Permit

When is a Mechanical Permit Needed?

Mechanical permits are required for the installation, alteration, repair, or replacement of mechanical systems or devices, which may include heating, ventilating, cooling and refrigeration systems, incinerators, chimneys and vents, ductwork, gas piping, or other miscellaneous heat-producing and/or associated appliances.

Moving Structures

When is a Permit Needed for Moving a Structure?

A permit to move a structure is required when a structure regulated by the State of Oregon One and Two Family Dwelling Code or the State of Oregon Structural Specialty Code is proposed to be moved to or from a site within the Corvallis city limits.

Who May Purchase this Permit?

A permit to move a structure may be purchased by the property owner or his/her authorized agent.

What is the Cost of the Permit?

$100.00 per structure.

Demolition Permit

When is a Demolition Permit Needed?

A demolition permit is required whenever a structure regulated by the State of Oregon One and Two Family Dwelling Code or the State of Oregon Structural Specialty Code is proposed to be demolished.

Plumbing Permit

When is a Plumbing Permit Needed?

Plumbing permits are required for the construction, installation, alteration, or repair of any plumbing system or plumbing fixture associated with any building or structure. Sewer, storm drain, and medical gas systems are also defined as plumbing.

When is an Electrical Permit Needed?

Electrical permits are required for any electrical work performed in conjunction with the construction, alteration, repair, or conversion of a building. Permits are also required for the installation, alteration or relocation of an electrical branch circuit, service or feeder.

Parking Lots

When is a Parking Lot Permit Needed?

Permits are required for parking lots proposed to be constructed, expanded, or reconstructed. Parking lot reconstruction is work such as removing and replacing 50% or more of the existing paving but would not include adding a lift of asphalt, resealing the surface, or other standard maintenance activity.
