Gabe Shepherd
Gabe Shepherd attended Oregon State University and graduated in 2018 with an HBS in Industrial Engineering. Discovering an interest in government in 2017, Gabe started attending Corvallis City Council meetings. He began to look for ways to get more involved at a local level. Gabe became a volunteer aide for the Corvallis City Legislative Committee, a paid minutes recorder for Corvallis, Albany, and Newport, and a Corvallis Budget Commissioner.
Gabe was first elected in 2020 to represent the people of Ward 4, which then included the College Hill Neighborhood Association, all of OSU’s main campus, and part of the West Hills Neighborhood Association. He was elected to a second term in 2022. His policy priorities include:
- Ensuring Corvallis is a welcoming city that values social justice and inclusion
- Taking responsible action to do Corvallis’ part in combating climate change
- Increasing Corvallis’ housing stock in a planful way
Gabe is proud to have been the leading voice in establishing Ranked Choice Voting and to have voted for many initiatives that increase Corvallis’ housing stock and sustainability.
