Fire Department Urges Preparedness Ahead of Red Flag Warning

September 8, 2022 - Corvallis Fire Department is increasing its staffing levels ahead of the anticipated high fire risk forecast for the community through the weekend. Fire Department officials are also encouraging community members to practice extreme fire safety and be on the lookout for fire activity. The National Weather Service (NWS) has declared a “Red Flag Warning” for all of the Willamette Valley, including Benton County, starting at 11 a.m. Friday, September 9 through 11 p.m. Saturday, September 10.

Porter Park Playground Replacement Project Begins

September 7, 2022 - The children’s playground at Porter Park, located at 1895 NW Hayes Ave., will be closed for construction starting on September 7 to receive much-needed replacement playground equipment. The closure is expected to last for approximately eight weeks, wrapping up in October.

Providing Input at City Council Meetings and Work Sessions

The City of Corvallis values community engagement and regularly invites public participation on City services and policies. The City recently updated its public participation framework to embrace the principles of the International Association of Public Participation (IAP2), with the goal of creating a consistent approach to public participation.
