Corvallis Police Department

The mission of the Corvallis Police Department is to enhance community livability by working in partnership with the community to promote public safety and crime prevention through education and enforcement; to maintain public order while preserving the legal rights of all individuals; to provide effective, efficient and courteous service; and to reduce the impact of crime.

Mayor and Council

City Council members are elected individually from the City's nine wards. Each of the nine City Council members serves a two-year term.

COUNCILOR RESPONSIBILITIES

The City Council is the City’s official policy and decision-making body. Councilors meet twice per month, are members of the Budget Commission, and serve as liaisons to various advisory boards and commissions. Councilors spend an average of 10 to 15 hours per week on City business and are eligible to receive reimbursement for expenses incurred while performing official duties.

Community

There are plenty of ways to connect with the City of Corvallis. Your community benefits from having a diverse array of opinions and viewpoints involved in local government.

Finance

The Finance Department for the City of Corvallis includes administrative operations for Municipal Court, City Services and Ambulance billing, Accounting, Budget, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Property Risk Management for the financial resources of the City. These services are provided by 17 staff members, with a 2024-2025 budget of $6.19 million.

Community Development

It is the mission of the Community Development Department to facilitate the definition, interpretation and implementation of the community's vision for Corvallis. 

Advisory Groups

Recruitment is underway for volunteers to serve on the City's network of advisory groups.

 

City Manager's Office

The City Manager's Office ensures the City runs effectively and efficiently to achieve the City Council's goals for the community, using the City's available resources. The City Manager's Office provides leadership, coordination, and management for the City organization and support for the City Council. Staff within the City Manager's Office coordinate elections, provide timely information to our community, and encourage connection between community members and the City organization.
