Corvallis Fire Department Responds to Explosion at HP Campus

The Corvallis Fire Department responded to an explosion at HP Inc. at 3:26 p.m. on Thursday, March 22. Officials confirmed that a hydrogen generator exploded in a laboratory in Building 2. Damage was limited to the room where the explosion took place. There was no ensuing fire, and firefighters did not deploy any firefighting apparatus. The explosion did not produce any release of materials, according to HP officials and the Corvallis Fire Department.

CANCELED Housing & Community Development Advisory Board

This meeting has been canceled.  The HCDAB met earlier this month on March 7.

The Housing and Community Development Advisory Board (HCDAB) formulates and recommends policies on housing and community revitalization issues, with an emphasis on older, declining, or lower income neighborhoods. Read more about HCDAB here.

Dunawi Creek Maintenance Project Begins

Corvallis Public Works has begun a maintenance and restoration project along two sections of Dunawi Creek in southwestern Corvallis. Contractor crews will be removing invasive vegetation, trash and other debris that could impede creek flows.

The first section includes Dunawi Creek from Brooklane Drive west to Trophy Place. The second section covers the creek from Country Club Place west to Highway 34.

November 2018 - Mayor and Council Election

The Mayor and all nine City Councilor positions were on the November 6, 2018 ballot.  Results are shown below. 

The elected Mayor serves a four-year term from January 2019 through December 2022.  Elected City Councilors serve a two-year term from January 2019 through December 2020.
