Small Therapy Pool

Size and capacity
The Small Pool, adjacent to the shallow end of the 50 Meter Pool, is 40 feet by 22 feet. It holds  25,000 gallons.

Depth and design
The depth starts at zero feet with the first step, at the bottom of the steps the depth is 2.5 feet and gradually slopes down to 4.5 feet at the deep end. The Small Pool has long, wide access steps with handrails down the middle and along one side that run the full length of the stairs.

Features
The Small Pool has foam "noodle" toys which are available for recreation, exercise and instruction. Our mats and inner-tubes are not allowed in the Small Pool due to the limited space.

Water temperature
The Small Pool's temperature is kept at 91º F. The warmer temperature is ideal for relaxing, water therapy, and children's lessons.

Accessibility
The Small Pool is handicap accessible from wheel chairs, standing or carry positions by means of the battery operated RehaMed PAL - Portable Aquatic Lift and portable ARJO Mark II handicap lift. 

Filter, cleaning system 
The Small Pool is filtered with a large vacuum diatomaceous earth filter and it is disinfected with a Calcium Hypochlorite tablet system. The circulation system is capable of a turnover rate of just under 4 hours, which is better than the state standard of 6 hours.

Sustainability
The Small Pool circulation pump is equipped with a variable frequency drive which allows it to run at slower speed for significant energy savings. The Small Pool is equipped with a UV disinfection system which reduces the chlorine byproduct- chloramines, which are responsible for eye burn, skin irritation, breathing difficulties and "chlorine" odor.
