City Offices Reopening to the Public on March 29

The move comes two weeks after Benton County entered the "High Risk" category under Governor Kate Brown's reopening guidelines.

Why No Water Wings?

Water wings, swim rings, inflatable toys and other items designed for water recreation are not substitutes for U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jackets or adult supervision. For those with little or no swimming skill, a fall off or out of one of these devices could lead to a drowning situation. Additionally, the materials used for these devices deteriorate in sun and rough pool surfaces, leading to deflation and leaks.

Week of 03/29/21 - Neighborhoods

The Neighborhood Update is produced on a weekly(ish) basis by the City of Corvallis to help neighborhoods stay connected.

Middle Housing Departmental Advisory Committee

Discriminatory Covenants

Deed restrictions such as Covenants, Conditions & Restrictions (CCRs) are commonly known today for laying out rules for homeowner's associations. However, those who own older residential property may also find racial restrictive covenants in their property deed and CCRs.

Report Housing Discrimination

The City of Corvallis works with the Fair Housing Council of Oregon to address housing discrimination. The FHCO is a nonprofit civil rights organization driven to eliminate illegal housing discrimination through enforcement and education across Oregon. They promote equal access to housing by providing education, outreach, technical assistance, and enforcement support on federal, state, and local fair housing laws and protected classes.

Analysis of Impediments

The U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) allocates federal funds to state and local governments as well as non-profit organizations to support community development and increase access to fair and equal housing.  As a recipient of these federal funds, the City of Corvallis commits itself to affirmatively furthering fair housing and prepares an Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice (AI) to demonstrate its actions towards this commitment.
