Fair Market Rents (FMRs) are established by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and are gross rent estimates. FMRs are primarily used to determine initial renewal rents for some expiring project-based Section 8 contracts, to determine initial rents for housing assistance payment contracts, and to serve as a rent ceiling in the HOME rental assistance program. The Economic Development Advisory Board consists of six volunteer members appointed by the Corvallis Mayor and three appointed by the Benton County Board of Commissioners. Membership of the Board represent emerging technology and manufacturing, green/sustainable business, professional services, retail and general business, higher education, health care, and the community at large.
