Pursuant to Governor Brown’s Executive Order 20-16, item 2.a., issued on April 16, 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, this meeting will be conducted online only. The Fire Station Meeting Room will be closed to the public.

The Neighborhood Update is produced on a weekly(ish) basis by the City of Corvallis to help neighborhoods stay connected. Contributions are always welcomed and considered - please send by Friday of the preceding week.

City Council Adopts $181 Million Budget for Fiscal Year 2022

The Corvallis City Council voted Monday to approve an annual budget totaling $181,346,700 for Fiscal Year 2022. Council’s action was the final step in the City’s annual budget process, which began in May with a series of Budget Commission meetings and included extensive deliberations, analysis and public input.

The new budget goes into effect on July 1, when the City of Corvallis begins its new fiscal year.

Fitness Establishments Can Hold Classes in City Parks Under New Program

Special Use Permits will allow certain fitness establishments to host classes in designated City parks due to impacts related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Charter Amendment: Removing Gender Specific Pronouns throughout City Charter (Measure 2-133)

At the November 2, 2021 election, Corvallis voters approved this Charter amendment. Unofficial results from Benton County Elections are as follows:

BottleDrop Customers Helping Support Corvallis Parks

The Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative (OBRC), parent organization to BottleDrop, announced a $2,500 donation to Friends of Corvallis Parks and Recreation. The donation, generated through BottleDrop’s Containers for Change program, will be used by the nonprofit to support the City of Corvallis’ Youth Volunteer Corps program.
