Status Updates

October 2024

The Police Station was included in the community engagement conducted by the Civic Campus Community Engagement Task Force in the spring and summer of 2024. Community feedback about a new Police Station facility (which was proposed to be located adjacent to the Civic Campus near 5th & Madison) was featured in the Task Force's final report. The report was delivered to Council on October 21, 2024. The report is available to review on the City website.

March 2023

In March 2023, the Council directed staff to add the new Police Department facility to the group of projects that were being prioritized for the first phase of the facilities project. The concept for the project is undergoing further refinement to identify any ‘fatal flaws’, to develop 10% design drawings, and to secure more accurate cost estimates from which funding strategies can be developed for Council discussion.
