City Announces Service Adjustments Related to COVID-19 Impacts

News - For Immediate Release

January 21, 2022 - The City of Corvallis is adjusting some services in response to staffing shortages related to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. In all cases, these service modifications are intended to maintain the levels of service that the community expects, while following current public health guidelines to keep staff and the public safe.

  • Public Works: The current street sweeping schedule is temporarily delayed, so community members may notice that street sweepers might not be operating in in their neighborhoods on the dates listed on the city website.
  • CTS Bus Service: Due to an ongoing shortage of bus drivers, CTS has reduced service on Routes 5, 6, 50, and Route 1 Peak PM. Visit www.corvallisoregon.gov/cts for the latest service announcements.
  • Community Development: The customer service counter for the Planning Division and Housing & Neighborhood Services Division has reduced its daily hours to 8 to 10 a.m. and 2 to 4 p.m. Community members can also call 541-766-6908 to make an appointment.
  • Finance: The city services billing office will be closed to the public until January 31 for in-person payments and questions. Community members can make a payment online at www.corvallisoregon.gov/pay.

In most cases, these service adjustments are temporary and will be lifted as soon as possible. Public safety services in Corvallis, including police, fire, and 9-1-1 dispatch, are maintaining normal levels of service. They have well-developed mutual aid and contingency plans in the event of staff shortages.

More information about service reductions or modifications will be shared if needed.
