City Council to Resume In-Person Meetings on May 2

News - For Immediate Release

April 25, 2020 - More than two years after implementing virtual meetings, the Corvallis City Council will resume in-person meetings on May 2. Regular Council meetings and twice-monthly work sessions will once again take place at Council Chambers, located on the second level of the Downtown Fire Station, 400 NW Harrison Blvd.

The City will continue its popular livestream of Council meetings and work sessions using remote webinar software, for community members who wish to attend the meetings virtually. Community members can register for the webinar and then log in using a link provided, or they can dial in from a phone to follow the audio feed. Limited public seating will be available in Council Chambers. Masks are welcome, but not required.

In addition, community members have several options to provide remarks during the Community Comments section of the meeting, including:

  • Submitting comments about a specific agenda topic in advance using the Public Input Form on the City website.
  • Signing up in advance to speak virtually during the meeting.
  • Signing up in advance to speak in-person during the meeting.

Information about how to participate and how to provide comments will be available on the City website calendar entry for each upcoming meeting. The deadline to register for verbal comment and to submit any written comment or materials to accompany a verbal comment is 9 a.m. the day of the meeting.  More information is available at www.corvallisoregon.gov/calendar.

Public hearings, which take place throughout the year based on topics before the Council, will follow a similar framework for community members who wish to testify during the hearing.

Most other City meetings, such as advisory groups, committees, and commissions, will continue to be held virtually via remote webinar in most cases.
