Monroe Avenue Corridor Study

The City of Corvallis and Oregon State University (OSU) are collaborating on a project which will develop a conceptual improvement plan for Monroe Avenue between 14th and 26th Streets. Both the City and OSU recognize the importance of this corridor as a connection between the community, University, and businesses and organizations that share its frontage. The plan will focus on enhancing the safety and comfort for people walking, biking, driving, and accessing transit as they travel along Monroe.

Corvallis Fire Responds to Fire at University Dorm

Shortly before 3 a.m. on October 27, the Corvallis Fire Department was dispatched to a fire alarm at Bloss Hall, a 7-story dormitory on Oregon State University’s campus.

Climate Action Advisory Board

The Climate Action Advisory Board (CAAB) meeting will be held in-person at the Maple Room in the Corvallis Community Center and virtually at 5:00 p.m.

Police Response at Cheldelin Middle School

On October 17, 2023, at approximately 11:30 am Corvallis Police Officers responded to Cheldelin Middle School at 987 NE Conifer Blvd for a report of a student on the roof. An officer and a member of the C.O.R.E. (Crisis, Outreach, Response, and Engage) team talked with the student trying to convince him to come down and diffuse the situation. A fire truck with a ladder was summoned so the student could come down safely, however the student eventually got off of the roof without the ladder and ran from police in the direction of the Jackson Frazier Wetland.
