LDC History

Corvallis land use regulations date back to late 1800's, when community members wanted to prohibit or regulate certain uses of property such as gambling and billiard halls. The first Corvallis zoning ordinance, which set aside specific zones or locations in the City for each type of allowable use of property, was adopted in 1932. Since that time, the zoning ordinance and associated maps have been amended several times.
