November 5, 2020 - The City of Corvallis has launched a new assistance program to help low-income community members pay their City Services bills. Applications are being accepted now, and the new program will go into effect on January 1, 2021.

To apply, go to www.corvallisoregon.gov/billassistance or call 541-766-6949. Applications received by December 1 that meet eligibility guidelines will receive assistance on their January bill. Applications received after December 1 will need to wait up to one month for processing before possibly becoming eligible.

The program will provide eligible customers with a credit of up to $25 to help pay their monthly City Services bills. This is a new program, so the exact amount of credit will not be known until the number of applicants who have applied is verified.

Eligibility is determined based on household income. To be eligible the customer must:

  • Reside in a single-dwelling residence within the City limits (this includes single-dwelling homes, detached townhouses, condominiums, zero lot-lines, etc., where the units have individual water meters).
  • Pay the City Services bill for the home; and
  • Participate in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), or
  • Oregon Health Plan (OHP), or
  • The free/reduced school lunch program through the Corvallis School District.

This is an annual program and must be renewed each year by submitting a new application. The program will be funded through a 35-cent surcharge that will be applied to all billing customers starting in January 2021.
