About the Neighborhood
The Birdie Neighborhood was formalized in 2019. The neighborhood is largely contained within two cul-de-sacs accessible by a single entrance. The neighborhood is home to a wide range of ages and is in proximity to an elementary school, recreational pathways, and the Bruce Starker Arts Park and Natural Area. The Birdie Neighborhood is a 2x recipient of the Neighborhood Empowerment Grant. The funds were used to address blackberries growing into rights-of-way along SW 35th Street. Neighbors and school children throughout the area expressed appreciation for the projects that improved travel along the sidewalks. Current interests include: emergency preparedness and neighborhood social events.
Boundaries: Boundaries are established by a formal agreement. Dunawi Creek Greenway and Bike Path to the west, Philomath Boulevard to the north, 35th Street to the east, and Dunawi Creek to the south.
